United Way of Aiken County welcomed a new group to the organization last year, the Young Philanthropists Society. The YPS is composed of individuals between the ages of 21 and 39 who contribute $240 or more annually to United Way of Aiken County. The group held their first reception on December 1st at Soiree with approximately 45 people who attended. The reception was held as an opportunity for us to get to know these donors and thank them for their generosity. We hope to make this reception an annual event to recognize these individuals.
Cammie Hayes, Chair of the YPS stated, “We are excited about this new chapter for United Way of Aiken County and we look forward to getting these individuals engaged in the community and in this organization. This is a group of people who are already committed to making a difference in this community through their generous contributions. We are also looking forward to working with them through volunteer efforts and encouraging them to become advocates for our neighbors in need in Aiken County. Our hope is that the Young Philanthropists Society continues to grow each year and that these individuals become the feature leaders of this organization and of this community. ”
